Kutus Kutus is comprised of 5 elements from plants, namely roots, stems, leaves, flowers and fruit which represent the concept of the Tree of Life. These are then added with 2 elements from fire and water, each of which is represented by coconut oil and other essential oils. In the next step, all the ingredients with exception to the oils are pounded until they form what is known as “boreh/parem”. In the final step, the pounded ingredients are mixed with the various types of oil and slow heated for an extended period creating a perfectly blended mix.
